World Water Day Festival-March 24, 2012  from 12-3pm

  The Lagoon Discovery Center is one of the only venues in San Diego County which hosts this important environmental outreach event for children and adults to learn about the critical issues facing our world’s water supply.  This year's theme is Water and Food Security.  We'll highlight how much of the water we use is tied up in food production.  This year will feature water-themed areas like Water Conservation, Water for Health & Water Recreation.  Speakers every hour include Eric Larsen of the SD COunty Farm Bureau, and the Carlsbad Rotary speakingon their water project.  The ever popular SPLASHmobile will be here, along with fun, hands-on games, crafts, entertainment, and cool stuff to do for all ages!!

The Birds & Bees Festival- June 23

 Learn all about migratory birds and the challenges they face for survival in this time of disappearing habitat and climate change.  Live birds and entertainment – all ages will enjoy this fun, educational event. Learn all the buzzzz regarding the honey bee crisis and critical role that pollinators play in the world’s food supply.  Although geared towards younger children, adults are often amazed at how much they learn at this great event.
