The Inaugural JURIED PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION

Whether photography is your passion, your hobby, or just an occasional pastime, we invite you to participate in the 1st Annual AHLF Photo Contest, celebrating the beauty and unique character of Agua Hedionda Lagoon!  Both amateur and professional photographers are welcome to participate.  Complete exhibition rules will be posted soon.

ELGIBILITY:  You must be an AHLF member

2008 SUBMISSION DEADLINE: July 18 - 21, 2008 at the Discovery Center

RULES:  The 2008 Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation Juried Photography Exhibition and 2009 Calendar is open to all professional and amateur photographers 16 and older. All photographs must have been taken within the extended boundaries of the Lagoon, its shores, trails, marinas, etc. This includes East of the 5 Freeway and West of the 5 Freeway including that part of the Lagoon which extends into the Ocean west of Highway 101 (Carlsbad Boulevard). 

Each entered photograph must be an original work: film-based or digital, color, black / white, multiple exposures, Polaroid transfer, other creative images. Please do not submit overly photo-shopped and/or overly digitized entries.


The CALL FOR ENTRIES will be available mid-May in all public libraries, galleries, high schools, photography businesses, Tourist Bureau, and the Discovery Center of the AHLF (located at Cannon and Faraday Roads, Carlsbad, 92008).  Maximum of three entries due July 18th to July 21st, 2008. Judging will take place in August and about fifteen photographs will also be selected for the 2009 Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation Calendar.  Opening public reception for all Lagoon Members, Photographers and friends/families/etc. will be the afternoon, December 7th, 2008. Exhibition closes January 16th, 2009
