Pollinator Awareness Week:  June 22 - 27

Daytime activities will be held:

• Monday June 22 10am-4pm
• Wednesday June 24 10am-4pm
• Friday June 26 10am-4pm
• Saturday June 27 10am-4pm

Evening lecture:  Thursday June 26 7pm-8:30pm with Dr. Michael Wall from the San Diego Natural History Museum, “Insects and Pollination”

where: AHLF Discovery Center:  1580 Cannon Road, Carlsbad CA
Exit I-5 at Cannon Road and go east 1.3 miles to Faraday.  The Discovery Center is at the corner of Cannon and Faraday.

what: The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation will participate in this annual nationwide event designed to bring awareness to the importance of the world’s pollinators. A Proclamation issued by U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack designates June 22-28 as the third National Pollinator Week.

The schedule of day time events at the Discovery Center for Pollinator week is as follows:

• a beekeeper with a live beehive (Saturday only)
• discussing the honeybee crisis
• live hummingbirds (Saturday only)
• Bats and Pollination display (Saturday only)
• live caterpillar metamorphosis (every day)
• honeycomb candle crafts (every day)
• pollinator face-painting (every day)
• pollinator crafts, games and movies (every day)

admission: Free for members of the Agua Hedionda LagoonFoundation. All others, $2 per child per day.
