AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT: WACKY WEDNESDAY
Need a midweek break to have some fun? Join Ms. Julie weekly for Wacky Wednesday! Wacky Wednesday is all about kids being kids, playing outside, and having fun safely.
What does a typical day look like? Each Wacky Wednesday, kids will interact with the Discovery Center animal interactions, go on nature walks, play fun games, and enjoy an ice cream party at the end!
Where does programming take place? Outside! The Discovery Center uses its 4 outdoor educational nature nodes with the exception of indoor restrooms, and inclement weather.
Who can sign up? Registration is open weekly for 12 kids in grades kinder-5th.
When to sign up? This is a weekly program offered every Wednesday in February-May. Registration is weekly. Want to sign up for the entire month? Email Emily

Covid-19 Program Accommodations:
We are closely monitoring the Center for Disease Control and the County of San Diego’s reopening guidelines to ensure our on-site programs take every measure to keep our students, families, and staff safe.
CDC Guideline regarding face masks for children:
“Younger children (e.g., preschool or early elementary aged) may be unable to wear a mask properly, particularly for an extended period of time. Wearing of masks may be prioritized at times when it is difficult to maintain a distance of 6 feet from others (e.g., during carpool drop off or pick up, or when standing in line at school). Ensuring proper mask size and fit and providing children with frequent reminders and education on the importance and proper wear of masks may help address these issues.”
Physical Distancing: While it is unrealistic to expect children to maintain 6 feet of distance from each other at all times during the camp day, we will be doing what we can to maintain physical distancing.
Face masks: It is left at the discretion of each family if they would like their child to wear a facial mask while attending, however no child under the age of two shall wear a facial covering.
