+ World Water Day

TTR Early Bird Flyer.jpg

Tip Top Run Dash & Bash is coming up on March 7, 2020. This event celebrates the eradication of Caulerpa taxifolia and helps to raise friends, funds, and awareness about this amazing resource. These unique courses have one of a kind views of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon and Pacific Ocean. This is a fun run/walk, but it is not a chip race. A shuttle will be provided to take participants back to their cars at both locations.

FUN AT THE FINISH

Party after the race! Both runs end at the Agua Hedionda Discovery Center located at 1580 Cannon Road. Join in on the bash and World Water Day Festival from 9:00AM to 12:00PM. This is a free family fun event with vendors, exhibitors, live music, a beer garden, games, activities and crafts.

Have Fun & Win:

Awards will be given to the top two finishers of both the 5k and 10K as well as the first finisher under 16 in each race.  Runners will also vote on their favorite Hydration Station as they cross the finish line. The top Hydration Station will win a prize!

Opportunity Drawings:

Three opportunity drawing prizes available for you to win! Tickets are $5 each or 6 tickets for $20. Make sure to bring your wallets because these tickets will go fast.

Corporate Group Competition:

The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation welcomes and encourages corporate groups to participate in Tip Top Run and compete for awards against other similar groups. This year, the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation will be giving out prizes for both the largest and fastest corporate group.

COURSES

HUBBS 5K:

The crowd favorite, the coastal 5K annually attracts a large crowd and starts at 8:30AM. Registration and start location is at the dead end of Garfield Avenue just north of the entrance to Hubbs Sea Bass Hatchery. Parking is available at Tamarack State Beach located at the intersection of Carlsbad Boulevard and Tamarack for $10 and on surrounding streets. Run on Hubbs Trail along the Agua Hedionda Lagoon looking out for the Garibaldi swimming next to you before making your way south on the sidewalk of Carlsbad Boulevard. Here you will run overlooking both the Agua Hedionda Lagoon and Pacific Ocean. Keep your eyes open for native shorebirds including Great Blue Herons, Snowy Egrets, and Brown Pelicans. Bathrooms and a water station are located at West Park, 2 miles into the race, at the corner of Carlsbad Boulevard and Cannon Road. The remainder of the run will take you along Cannon Road before eventually hitting the finish line at the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation Discovery Center.

FLEET STREET 10K:

For a more challenging and varied course, join in on the inland 10K at 8:30AM. Registration and start location is at 5780 & 5790 Fleet Street. Parking is available in the office buildings and on the street. This 10K provides a diverse and unique experience with a variety of paved and unpaved sections. Begin the 10K along the Flower Fields and paved trails near LEGOLAND. Soon, you will reach the unpaved Crossings Trail leading down to Macario Creek where one can see the diverse local riparian habitat. Listen for the distinctive meow-like call of the protected California Gnatcatcher or the Chi-ca-go of the California Quail. The trail then joins a rustic golf cart bridge and path at the bottom of the canyon, and then continues to Veterans Memorial Park via a pedestrian tunnel under Faraday Avenue. Once at Veteran’s Memorial Park, you will make your way up to a high vista with breathtaking views of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon and Pacific Ocean. A photographer will be there to take your picture. The remainder of the run will take you along Faraday Road before eventually hitting the finish line at the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation Discovery Center. Bathrooms are available every 2 miles with frequent water stations.
