Greg Rubin — President and Founder of California’s Own Native Landscape Design, Inc. — is a licensed landscape contractor who has been working with California native plants since 1985. By 1993, Greg transitioned from his career as an aerospace engineer to devote himself full-time to his successful and innovative landscaping business. His company has designed more than 700 native landscapes throughout Southern California. Greg has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, San Diego Union-Tribune, and Los Angeles Times, as well as in magazines including Sunset, San Diego Home & Garden, California Gardener, and Kiplinger’s.



A renowned expert in native California plants and longtime supporter of the Foundation, Greg will lead an exciting deep dive into the world of native foliage and its vital role in sustaining our ecosystem.
